Storytelling

Inspired by the act and concept of reuse, repurpose and recycle, I strive to bring old or discarded things to new light. Collage is about juxtaposition and interpretation. I love the hands-on exploration and discovery of collage and assemblage that inevitably leads to surprise compositions along the way. I draw inspiration from my family history, my travels and hikes, and my sketchbooks.

Collage

For me, Collage is about the arrangement and juxtaposition of disparate elements into a new connected whole. Each collage tells a second story that its parts alone would not be able to impart. I love this discovery.

Sketchbook

In-the-Instant collages. The point is to work quick and small. I carry around a few envelopes of scrap papers left over from larger projects and use these scraps and a glue stick to "sketch" in my visual poetry exercise book.

Photography

Texture, pattern and collections. I look for collage in nature and the city street and capture it just for the beauty of the texture itself or for reuse in my montages.

Recent Work & Upcoming Events

I have two collages in the NWCS Across the Universe Exhibit at Fogue Studios & Gallery, Seattle during March. Artist Reception is March 8, 5 - 9pm. A dozen collages are on display through May at Prohibition Cellars, Woodinville, as part of the Woodinville Arts Alliance Art Experience.

Save the Date! May 17-18th is the Woodinville Arts Alliance 2025 Studio tour. Check back later for my booth location. Over the winter I finished 35 new card originals and several small artworks - I look forward to showing them during the studio tour.
